Jack Pine's hearts are well-known for their unique layering of colored glass, strong saturation of colors and his unique finishing techniques, producing works with a mother-of-pearl, iridized, lustrous appearance. No paint is used in his work; rather, he uses raw materials imported from Germany as well as the technique of using precious metals such as gold and silver permeated into the glass to give it a lustrous appearance.
 
Jack grew up in Southern Ohio and studied art at the Columbus College of Art and Design. He has always been drawn to nature and inspired by its organic forms.
